Honeywell Expands Presence in India with New Manufacturing Facility for Safety Devices
This week, Honeywell announced the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Gurgaon, Haryana, India, for its System Sensor and Honeywell Analytics businesses. The new plant will produce the latest in fire, smoke and gas detection technology to meet the dynamic building growth in India and South Asia. Honeywell Life Safety President Mark Levy led the inaugural event on Sunday, February 24.
“There is significant opportunity for growth for fire protection, both active and passive protection, in India,” said Levy. “Our portfolio is well positioned to help this dynamic economy with the latest fire detection and notification technology. Our people are committed to helping customers create safer environments as the region’s building boom continues.”
The state-of-the-art facility represents one of the largest investments in the India’s fire safety industry. It incorporates production designs and processes that have improved efficiencies at existing Honeywell manufacturing operations in the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Italy, Russia and China.
“We anticipate substantial job growth in manufacturing, facility maintenance, delivery, and administration as a result of this new operation,” said Arun Khazanchi, director of System Sensor in India. In addition to serving customers in India, the factory will manufacture products that are sold to customers in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. It expects to deliver half a million fire alarm detectors and notification devices in its first full year of operation.
